DPT Selected For The 2003 Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition
14th Jun 2004Each year the Royal Society selects around twenty teams of the UK's foremost researchers in science and technology to share their exciting knowledge with a wider audience and exhibit their findings during the Summer Exhibition. This annual exhibition offers a fantastic opportunity to discover the best of the UK's science and technology research.
The Summer Science Exhibition puts the emphasis on hands–on, approachable, interactive exhibits that have many applications in the real world. It’s an unmissable event for anyone who wants to find out what today’s scientists are uncovering and how their research might affect our lives.
DPT beat off stiff competition to feature in the 2003 Summer Science Exhibition with their display "A Brush With Design", presenting an innovative pipeline tractor that uses bristles for traction rather than wheels.
DPT joined nineteen other teams with displays in cutting-edge science and technology, from Africa to Antarctica, from Earth to Mars, in fields as diverse as physics, chemistry and biotechnology, electronics and engineering, health, environment, earth and space sciences.
