Our tractors are intrinsically capable of providing a firm platform for mounting tools and sensors. Whilst suitable bristles provide a firm grip to the pipeline wall, cameras, sensors and tools are always located concentric with the pipeline. By using appropriate bristle configurations, DPT tractors are capable of generating multi-ton pulling forces with exceptionally high weight/pulling force ratios.
Their high traction load enables them to tow battery packs, in-line inspection vehicles, isolation plugs or heavy umbilicals over long distances, well outside the limits of conventional wheeled vehicles.
In recent tests, a 30" machine developed for pipeline relining applications generated a pulling force of 1.5 tons, whilst an 8" tractor weighing 60kg developed a traction force in excess of 2000 kg.
